Trauma Fellowship

The DMC Trauma Fellowship facilitates development of expertise in surgical and nonsurgical management of traumatic musculoskeletal conditions.

The fellowship focuses on the management of trauma and poly-trauma patients with emphasis on fractures of the acetabulum, pelvis, and complex intrarticular injuries and post traumatic malunion and nonunion management. The fellow is expected to take part in research including clinical reviews, clinical outcome studies, and basic science research. There is an opportunity to scrub total joints, sports, foot and ankle and spine trauma cases but this is not a requirement.

The fellowship encompasses two level one (Detroit Receiving Hospital, Michigan Children’s Hospital) and two level 2 trauma centers (Sinai Grace Hospital and Mclaren Oakland). The fellow is treated as an instructor in the division of Orthopaedic Trauma. He or she covers call with residents and is based at Detroit Receiving Hospital.

Applicants should have completed an ACGME accredited residency and be ABOS eligible.
