DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Detroit

Since 1886, the Children’s Hospital of Michigan has been dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to pediatric patients in a caring, efficient and family-centered environment. A proud member of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC), the Children’s Hospital of Michigan is the first children’s hospital in the state. This 228-bed facility has an international reputation in pediatric medicine, surgery and research, training more pediatricians than any other facility in Michigan.

CVI “Heart Hospital”

Built in 2014, the Heart Hospital provides state of the art operating rooms and clinic sites for musculoskeletal care. On the cutting-edge, the Heart Hospital houses the RIO Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopaedic System developed by MAKO Surgical Corp. Here, our residents will gain exposure to the future of hip and knee replacement, as well the essentials of navigation guided surgery. Our technology and facilities allow our team of musculoskeletal specialists to deliver a full spectrum of services. From advanced diagnostics that allow our doctors to see the orthopaedic pathology like never before, to an array of minimally invasive procedures designed to allow our DMC orthopaedic specialists to treat the problem with reduced pain, scarring and recovery time.

Detroit Receiving Hospital

Detroit Receiving Hospital, Michigan’s first Level I Trauma Center, is a premier provider in the Detroit community. Receiving hosts one of the busiest and most well-equipped emergency departments anywhere, training nearly half of practicing emergency medicine physicians in Michigan. Detroit Receiving offers expertise in many specialty services, including emergency medicine and trauma, critical care, orthopaedics, neurosciences, nephrology, pulmonology, diabetes, geriatrics, and urology. Boasting the state’s leading 24/7 hyperbaric oxygen program and Metro Detroit’s first certified primary stroke center, Detroit Receiving is a leader in senior care with our nationally recognized Rosa Parks Geriatric Center. A Center of Excellence for disaster preparedness, the experts at Detroit Receiving have made it the model for regional, state, national and federal agencies.

DMC Huron Valley – Sinai Hospital

DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital is one of the eight hospitals/institutes composing the Detroit Medical Center. Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital is a full service community teaching hospital with 158 licensed beds, including 6 pediatric beds in a partnership with Children’s Hospital of Michigan. The Hospital’s busy emergency department treats more than 31,000 patients each year. Orthopedics and oncology are also core service lines, with on-site radiation oncology services and a chemotherapy/infusion clinic.

Harper University Hospital

Harper University Hospital is one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the nation with fully-implement Electronic Medical Records, 100 percent medication scanning and advanced robotic surgery technology. Located in Detroit, Harper has served patients from across the country and around the world for over 150 years. Established in 1863, Harper is among America’s oldest and most highly regarded teaching institutions.

DMC Sinai Grace Hospital

Between 2012 and 2016, DMC invested $77 million in Sinai-Grace over three phases of construction, making it the largest construction project in Northwest Detroit in over 10 years. Phase I of the project was completed in 2014 and resulted in a new 59,000 square foot Emergency Department and Trauma Center. Phase II was completed in February 2015 and produced two new technologically-advanced, family-centered Intensive Care Units. Phase III resulted in a modern and bright new entrance, expansive 18,000 square foot lobby, new roomy registration suite, and expanded radiology area which all opened in June 2015. Phase III was completed in January 2016 with the opening of the new and expanded laboratory. Primarily a hub for high-volume trauma, our residents get early hands on experience in their Sinai Grace rotation.

St. John Providence Hospital

While not affiliated with the Detroit Medical Center, Providence Hospital is a community-based, teaching system, who merges compassion and patient-centered care with university expertise and treatment. Together they provide award-winning care in over 50 specialties. From an orthopaedic standpoint, Providence provides excellent surgical training in a community setting.
